The present invention relates to a liquid crystal display (LCD) device and a method of driving the same, and more particularly, to a liquid crystal display (LCD) device with improved display quality of moving images, which reduces or eliminates the deterioration of moving images, and a method of driving the same.
2. Description of the Related Art
In general, a liquid crystal display (LCD) device controls light transmittance of liquid crystal cells by individually driving the liquid crystal cells for each color according to video signals, thereby displaying a picture corresponding to the video signals on a screen. To this end, the LCD device comprises an LCD panel having liquid crystal cells arranged in a matrix, a driving circuit for driving the LCD panel, a timing controller for generating horizontal and vertical synchronizing signals and data signals, a data driver for driving data lines of the LCD panel in accordance with the horizontal and vertical synchronizing signals and the data signals, and a gate driver for driving gate lines of the LCD panel in response to the horizontal and vertical synchronizing signals.
FIG. 1 is a schematic block diagram of a related art LCD device. Referring to FIG. 1, the LCD device includes an LCD panel 110 having liquid crystal cells arranged in a matrix, a data driver 120 for driving data lines DL1 to DLm of the LCD panel 110 in accordance with horizontal and vertical synchronizing signals Hsync and Vsync and data signals D1 to Dn, a gate driver 130 for driving gate lines GL1 to GLn of the LCD panel 110 in response to horizontal and vertical synchronizing signals Hsync and Vsync, and a timing controller 140 for generating the horizontal and vertical synchronizing signals and the data signals D1 to Dn.
The LCD panel 110 is comprised of m×n liquid crystal cells Clc arranged in a matrix, m data lines DL1 to DLm, and n gate lines GL1 to GLn. The data driver 120 and the gate driver 130 are located at a lower portion of the LCD panel 110.
